We, the undersigned, stand united in our support for the Harris-Walz campaign and their bold, comprehensive agenda aimed at uplifting Black men and addressing the critical issues we face in America today.

 

At a time when Black men continue to be disproportionately impacted by systemic inequities, Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz have committed to ensuring that our voices are heard and that we are integral to shaping the future of this nation. Their Black Male Agenda centers on key areas that matter most to our communities, including:

• Economic Empowerment:

  • Providing 1 million fully forgivable loans to Black Entrepreneurs for up to $20,000.00

  • Expanding access to bank accounts, venture capital, and affordable banking to help Black men build wealth.

  • Encouraging employee stock ownership and profit-sharing to close the racial wealth gap.

  • Promoting homeownership for Black men, tripling first-time Black homeowners by the end of Harris's first term.

  • Offering affordable child care and expanding the Child Tax Credit to help Black families.

  • Supporting financial innovations such as cryptocurrency with protections.

• Job Creation and Employment:

  • Expanding apprenticeships and pathways to good-paying jobs for Black men, including in high-demand industries.

  • Breaking down barriers to employment by addressing criminal records and credit scores in hiring.

  • Supporting mentorship and leadership programs that provide Black men with opportunities to develop skills.

• Health Equity:

  • ​​​​​​​Launching a National Health Equity Initiative focused on Black men, addressing issues like sickle cell disease, diabetes, prostate cancer, and mental health.

  • Lowering healthcare costs, capping insulin costs, and expanding access to preventive screenings.

• Criminal Justice Reform:

  • Legalizing recreational marijuana and ensuring Black men benefit from the emerging cannabis industry.

  • Promoting police reforms through the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act and supporting community violence intervention programs.

• Education and Workforce Development:

  • Championing education, training, and mentorship programs for Black men, including pathways to become teachers and community leaders.

  • Partnering with Histroically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institution (MSIs) to empower Black men in education and leadership roles.

• Civil Rights and Voting Rights:

  • ​​​​​​​Protecting Black Men's voting rights by fighting voter suppression and modernizing elections through the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act.

• Combating 45's Agenda:

  • ​​​​​​​Highlighting detrimental policies that harmed Black Men, including job losses, cuts to public safety and healthcare, and civil rights rollbacks, as well as raising costs on families and businesses.

• Voting Rights and Civic Engagement:

  • Protecting our right to vote by strengthening the Voting Rights Act, pushing back against voter suppression tactics, training the current and next generation of Leaders and engaging Black men in the political process at all levels.

We believe the Harris-Walz Black Male Agenda is a critical step toward achieving justice, equality, and opportunity for Black men across America. We stand in solidarity with this campaign, recognizing that their policies reflect the change we need to see in our communities.
