Brother,
As we move quickly towards this presidential election, it is not lost on us that we still have a ton of work to do. The recent comments from President Obama have us all thinking differently about how we can help each other understand who the best President can be not just for this country, but for each one of us as Black men.
How To Use This Toolkit:
This toolkit is a resource, it is designed to help you promote the work that you are doing and to effectively share that with your individual networks during these last days of the campaign. I encourage you to use the information below to engage and invite other brothers in your networks, your community and your neighborhoods to come together and stand tall so that our voices can be heard.
It’s simple.
Follow the steps below to host the watch party for your upcoming event. Use the graphic or QR code to ask other Black men to join you. Promote the watch party on social media using our sample content, recommended handles and hashtags. Finally, upload any photos from your watch party in our Google Photos folder. We will use these photos across our social media channels to show how Black men are participating in this election cycle to make a difference.

How to Host a Watch Party

Choose a start time to allow guests to arrive, grab food and settle in before the watch party begins.
Use your favorite text messaging app, email, or platforms like Evite or Partiful. Include relevant details like address and phone number.
Call your invitees to confirm their attendance for the watch party.
Set up a laptop or computer with the StreamYard or YouTube channel to watch the convening call.
Ensure the streaming service or cable is working and test your audio-visual setup in advance.
Provide enough seating with clear views of the screen. Use extra chairs, cushions, or bean bags for larger crowds.
Dim lights for movie nights or adjust brightness for casual sports events.
Think popcorn, chips, nachos, finger foods, and desserts. You could also match food to the event (e.g., pizza for a sports game or themed cupcakes).
Offer a variety—soda, cocktails, mocktails, or even themed drinks related to the
event.
Set up a snack or drink station to minimize interruptions.
Create a playlist to play as guests arrive.
Leave time to discuss the agenda, trade contact information and invite to the next Win With Black Men event.
